There's Nowhere That You Need to Arrive :)

Welcome to Letters of Wonder — a space to explore the truths behind clarity, creation, and what it means to live a truly wonderful life.
If you’d rather listen to the audio version of this newsletter:
We’ve been sold a lie.
That one day — when you have the body, the money, the love — you’ll finally feel whole.
But that day never comes.
Because the truth is: you don’t arrive at wholeness, you remember it.
Looking Up to Your Future Self

I was watching Matthew McConaughey’s speech at the Oscars the other day.
He says his hero is himself, but 10 years from now.
And I liked that. The idea of always chasing a better version of you.
But here’s the catch:
We think that if we keep chasing, we’ll eventually “arrive.”
That one day, everything will finally click.
But that’s not what Matthew meant.
The truth is that the finish line always moves.
You hit one goal… and another appears.
You win once… and your standards rise.
That’s human nature.
So yes, chase your future self (which is so awesome and fun to do).
But remember: the real power is in being fully present along the way.

Arrival vs Alignment
Arrival says:
“Once I get there, I’ll be whole.”
Alignment says:
“I’m already whole. I just choose what’s true to me now.”
The idea is that you want to live in alignment as much as possible, not arrival.
Here’s what shifting to alignment means:
You build things from peace and not pressure
You stop trying to prove things and start doing what’s true to you
You attract better people, better work, and better energy
It’s a conscious choice you have to be making every single day.
And then, things start flowing by themselves.

Applying Alignment in Life
I used to think:
Once I’m more ripped, I’ll be more confident.
I hit the gym. I gained weight and I got stronger.
But I still felt… not enough.
So I pushed further and further.
And then one day, I asked myself, “why am I really lifting?”.
And I still struggle sometimes to answer this.
But eventually, I realized:
It wasn’t about getting jacked.
It was about being seen by others.
And no matter how much I lifted, I couldn’t lift my own self-worth.
That’s when I knew my internal state had to change. I had to align.
I had to get clear on what I wanted.
Here’s what that was for me:
It meant facing the fear of looking too skinny, and finally committing to a cut.
I’d always wanted to see what I looked like at a lower body fat.
Being tall, I was afraid of looking lanky.
But, I decided to do the cut anyways.
And once I did, I felt so much lighter.
Because it wasn’t about the cut or how I looked.
It was about listening to what I really wanted.

I’ve also been really thinking about alignment in our business.
Things like:
1) What type of business I actually want to run
2) Where I can create the most value
3) What do I enjoy doing
3) Which partners do I actually want to work with
That led to a lot of refinement in the business (like cutting back on some of our services and letting go of clients).
And yes, it sucks to lose money.
But at the same time, things have felt a whole lot better.
Because alignment feels great.
Do Everything to Figure out How to Align
You need to start to even know where you align.
That’s why I’m such a big believer in action.
But know this:
Whether it's money or muscle, the finish line always moves.
And the belief that you’ll finally feel enough when you get there?
It’s a lie we all learn the hard way.
Arrival doesn’t work.
Alignment does.
You can go to the gym and build a business and still feel aligned.
If you’re doing it because:
You enjoy the process
You love the growth
You feel alive not because of your self-worth, but alongside it
And if you don’t feel aligned yet, that’s okay.
It takes a lot of volume before you even start to recognize what alignment feels like.
To be honest, I’m still just catching glimpses of it myself.
Some days it’s there.
And other days, I’m still figuring it out.
A Question for You
Let me leave you with a question:
Where in your life are you waiting for permission to be who you already are?
You may know yourself deep down as this person.
But you aren’t showing that to the world because you think:
You have to look a certain way
You have to lift a certain weight
You have to hit a certain number in your bank account
But it’s all a fallacy.
There’s nowhere to arrive.
There is only this moment and the courage to fully live it.
That’s when alignment kicks in, and you’ll be enjoying the moment while building towards an abundant future.
What Changed for Me
In the last year, I’ve made more progress than the five before it.
Not by grinding harder.
But by continuing to remind myself: I already am.
So here’s the truth:
You don’t need to arrive.
You just need to come home to yourself.
And from there, whatever you decide to work on or build will be magnetic.
I want to end with a quote from Jed McKenna:
“Enlightenment is the unlearning of everything you thought you knew.“
You don’t need to arrive.
You just need to come home to yourself.
